Hello all and welcome to the Gecko news site. Here you'll find information about recent projects, studio improvements and general gossip.

JUNE 2008

Laurie Newsome is back in the studio doing drum tracks for his eclectic brand of poetic monster rock. Laurie is a stalwart of the Northern Tablelands music scene and his original material is unique, uplifting and powerful. Hopefully, we will soon have some sample tracks ready for download and a CD to follow.

We have recently set up a mastering suite at the studio and mastering has been in full swing. The master floobydust has been liberally applied to the latest CD from Melbourne alternative Hip Hop artist, Clickjaw.

We are also currently mastering album and single tracks for the new LOTEK Hi Fi CD. Both albums are sounding great and deserve a listen.

Scott Watkins-Sully and I have been busy mixing Paul Kelly "Live at the State Theatre". It was a powerful show and Paul and the band put on a 28 song marathon including the whole of his latest CD, "Stolen Apples", and most of his extensive list of hits. Special thanks to Nathan Kirchner for magical work on the transfers above and beyond the call of duty. Definitely check this out if you're a fan of the great man. It can be downloaded at:

Fred Canosa has resumed work on his solo CD after an enforced break and tracking is going well. So far, Fred and friends have put together an eclectic bunch of songs ranging from folk to country to hard rock. Now things are rolling again, Fred should be talking about a release date sometime in the new year.

All the best

Greg Harrison
